There I was in Amsterdam, a country completely unknown and waiting for me to begin the miles of walking and sightseeing. Apart from my excitement to see things and be aware of my surroundings, I saw the opportunity to explore the many tastes of coffee in different aspects. Like so, this here is called the "Italian Special Expresso" observe how simple it looks, there's no whip cream no colors or even a special cup for that matter. It was only 2 euros and for my health concerns I asked for a "soy" substitute; the taste was so confusing at first because I simply could not name what I was drinking. If you hand me a Mocha I can immediately say that it is a mixture of chocolate and coffee because that is what makes a Mocha. But somehow this Italian was difficult to point out considering I got in Amsterdam which is thousands of miles away from Italy. My first sip was.....well I hardly knew what to say. I was in a guessing game and I was naming every flavor in the book I can come up with to name this flavor, my closest flavor to describe this was Christmas. I know...that's not a flavor... but it was the word to describe it and I was stuck on it, I thought of peppermint and sunset scenery. How does that even go together? But as I drank it I began to reassure myself that peppermint was in here somewhere, and this Italian Special was indeed...Special.
